Club Projects

Initiatives from the Himali Riders Club

Over the years the promoters of this club have worked on several initiatives, some even before the Club was registered, but the work was done with the community of riders behind it. Here are some of the initiatives we worked on.

Pump Track Kathmandu

In partnership with Velosolutions, Ward 01 of Lalitpur, Bagmati Sabyata, Trail Builders Nepal, Himalayan Single Track and the MTB community, the Club coordinated all efforts to build Nepal’s first ever Asphalt Pump Track.

The next plan here? Conducting the first ever PUMP TRACK QUALIFIERS in Nepal. Watch this space. We are super excited with the success of this initiative.

If there is a need for PUMP TRACKs in your area, contact us. We can help!

Bungamati Trails Initiative

In partnership with the Local Ward in Bungamati Lalitpur, the promoters of this Club, worked alongside SWITCH ASIA. UNHABITAT and the Bungamati Trails Initiative, to do the first ever Detailed Project Report to maintain the Raj Kulo Trails in this area into a permanent MTB trail, accessible to about 80% of the riders.

Where is it now? Well, we did the DPR and submitted it – the decisions are being made and the finances collected to do the actual work. Hopefully – soon!

Mustang Trails & Kali X MTB Festival

For the Visit Nepal 2020 program, the promoters of this club went to Mustang for a 16 days research to design the concept behind the Mustang Trails Initiative, and launch it with a signature event called the KaliX MTB Festival, that was due in December 2020 – officially sanctioned, budgeted and finalised. Unfortunately, the pandemic got in the way.

Are we stopping? Nope, all the research is done, and we have all the plans ready. When the time is right and we find the right partners – this will go ahead!
